Avalanches in Afghanistan – level 2
14-02-2017 07:00
Avalanches in Afghanistan killed at least 119 people. Heavy snowfall destroyed nearly 200 homes. In the area near the border with Pakistan, two villages are completely under the snow.
Rescue teams are trying to get to the affected areas, but the routes are dangerous. The United Nations offered its help to Afghanistan, which is in trouble.
Difficult words: avalanche (when a lot of snow falls down from a mountain), rescue team (a group or a team of people who try to rescue or help people in danger), affected (hit; the areas in trouble).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
