Floods in Greece – level 3
28-06-2018 07:00
Torrents of water from a nearby mountain flooded the town of Mandra west of Athens in Greece. In video footage, you can see mud and debris rushing through the streets, making roads unusable.
This is the latest of disasters in Greece; 20 people died from heavy flooding in the same area in November 2017.
Difficult words: torrent (a strong, fast-moving stream of water), debris (pieces of broken things), rush (move fast).
