Starbucks and the Planet – level 2
13-07-2018 07:00
Nine million tons of plastic end up in the oceans every year. Campaigners are calling for a complete end to single-use plastic, and Starbucks has agreed to do its bit.
It is the largest food and drink company. It pledged to stop using plastic straws in all of its locations within two years.
Difficult words: campaigner (a person who wants to change something), do its bit (do something to help such as save the planet), pledge (say that you are going to do something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
