9/11 Firefighters – level 1
23-09-2019 15:00
In 2001, many people die in the 9/11 attacks. That is 18 years ago. However, people are still dying from the attacks.
Firefighters help people after the attacks. They work in the dust from the buildings that fall. This is very dangerous. The dust leads to heart disease. The New York City Fire Department says that 200 firefighters die because they helped after the 9/11 attacks.
Difficult words: dust (smoke, very small things which can come into your body), disease (an illness, something wrong with the body), helped (past of “help”).
