School Safety Plan – level 2
22-11-2019 07:00
Last week, a student shot other students at a high school in California, USA, and the school had a detailed safety plan. The plan may have helped the victims immediately.
The school created the 245-page safety plan in 2018. It extended a safety contract with the police in 2019.
People at the school were also trained in lockdown drills and how to stop blood loss. Additionally, the safety plan required mental health counselors. Counselors are currently working with the school.
Difficult words: extend (to make bigger, to continue), lockdown drill (when people lock doors and hide because a violent person is nearby), mental health counselor (a professional who helps people with their thoughts and emotions after a bad event).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
