Russia’s New Internet – level 1

Russia wants to have its own Internet. The country makes a test of it. There is not a lot of information about the test. However, officials say that it is successful. They say that Internet users do not have any problems during the test.

The test is a complicated and difficult task. Many people wonder why Russia does it. Some people believe that Russia wants to have control over people. They want to have control over their activity on the Internet.

The Russian President does not agree with this. He says that the country’s own Internet is important for its independence.

Difficult words: user (a person who works on a computer), activity (something people do), independence (when a country or a person is free and does not need any help).
