Hostages Are Free – level 3

In the Philippines, a gunman named Archie Paray shot a person and took 30 to 40 people hostage at shopping mall; he was a former security guard at the mall, and he was upset that he was recently dismissed.

Police negotiated with Paray. After hours, SWAT members and other law enforcement members entered the mall to rescue the hostages and take Paray to jail. The hostages were released and the injured hostage is recovering at hospital.

Difficult words: dismiss (to fire from a job), SWAT member (a member of a team called Special Weapons and Tactics that performs very dangerous and police jobs), law enforcement (related to the police and protection), release (to let go).
