Iraq Attack – level 2
18-03-2020 07:00
On Wednesday evening, rockets hit a military base in Iraq. It was the deadliest attack in Iraq since December 2019. The rockets killed three people and injured several other people.
Two of the dead people were American soldiers, and one person was a British woman who worked as a medical technician.
The rockets that hit the base came from Russia. Militia groups used similar rockets in conflicts between the US and Iran. US officials said that it is not possible to blame somebody for the attack now. However, the attack can bring more conflicts between the US and Iran.
Difficult words: deadly (when something causes death), militia group (people who train like an army, but they are not professional soldiers), blame (to say that someone did something wrong).
