NASA Mission Delayed – level 3
26-03-2020 07:00
NASA has delayed production of the rocket and spacecraft for its Artemis moon program.
The agency said that it is closing its assembly facility, as well as its center in Mississippi, in response to the rising number of coronavirus cases. The agency also said that a member of the Mississippi team has been tested positive for the coronavirus.
Both facilities were working on the world’s most powerful rocket, and they are a part of a mission to send the first woman and the next man to the moon by 2024.
NASA said that the production delay will impact its missions; however, the health and safety of the NASA employees it the main priority at the moment.
Difficult words: spacecraft (a vehicle that is used for traveling in space), assembly (the process of building something by putting all its parts together), facility (a building that has a specific purpose).
