Man under Snow – level 2
08-01-2021 07:00
Fulvio Giovannini was skiing in the Dolomites, Italy. It was a nice December day, and the man did not expect anything bad to happen.
Then an avalanche happened, and Giovannini got stuck under it for almost one hour. Later, he described how he felt. He could not move, and he could only nod with his head. It helped him get snow off his face and he could see some light. He stayed calm and he hoped that he would survive. Giovannini was wearing special equipment so rescuers knew where he was. They found him in the snow and saved him.
Giovannini loves the mountains. The accident made him stronger, and he wants to go back there.
Difficult words: avalanche (snow and rock which fall down a mountain), get stuck (to stay in a place and not be able to leave), survive (to stay alive when something bad happens).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
