Fake Grannies Want Vaccine – level 2
24-02-2021 07:00
Two women dressed up to look like grannies because they wanted to get the coronavirus vaccine.
The women were wearing hats, gloves, and glasses when they arrived at the vaccination site in Florida, US. They changed their birth years in vaccination documents and they hoped that they would get a vaccine. In the US, people who are 65 and older, get the vaccine first, but the women were only 34 and 44 years old. The staff saw that the birth dates in the documents and the birth dates in their driver’s licenses were different. A police officer asked the women to leave and he said that they could not come back.
Some people want the vaccine and they will try anything to get it. A man tried to trick health workers with his father’s documents because his father had the same name as him.
Difficult words: dress up (to wear unusual clothes which will make you look different), vaccination site (a special place where health workers vaccinate people), trick (to make someone believe something that is not true).
