Meghan Wins – level 1
08-03-2021 15:00
Meghan Markle is the Duchess of Sussex. She is the wife of Prince Harry. She is 39 years old.
Meghan and Harry get married in May 2018. Meghan’s father does not come to the wedding. Meghan is sad. She writes a letter to her father. She writes a lot of private information in the letter.
Then something bad happens. Mail on Sunday is a British newspaper. This newspaper prints Meghan’s letter. Millions of people can read it.
Lawyers help Meghan. She wins. A court decides that the newspaper must pay 630,000 dollars. It is the money which Meghan pays to the lawyers.
It is not the end. It is possible that the newspaper will pay more money.
Difficult words: private (something that one person or some people know), lawyer (a person who helps somebody in legal things), court (people who decide what happens when somebody does something bad).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
