Guns kill many children in the US. More children die from guns than anything else. In the past, many children die in car accidents. Now roads and cars are safer.
Guns are a big problem in the US. 9 million children live in a place where guns shoot people. Children die when they ride a bike. Someone shoots them when they walk from school. They die when they play. Black children die more often than white children.
Children are shot for many reasons. Sometimes an accident happens. Sometimes family problems happen. Sometimes a suicide happens. Suicide is when someone chooses to kill himself.
Difficult words: shoot (to use a gun), reason (why something happens), accident (something unplanned that happens).
