Fake chocolate – level 1
16-12-2022 07:00
A few companies run the cacao and chocolate markets. Cacao only grows near the middle of the Earth. West Africa makes most of the world’s chocolate.
Chocolate companies are responsible for a lot of dirty areas and deforestation. Children often work on big cocoa farms. Child work is illegal. Many people eat chocolate. They do not know about these problems.
WNWN Food Labs is a British company. It makes fake chocolate. This chocolate looks and tastes like real chocolate. The process doesn’t use cocoa beans. It uses barley or legumes instead. They also use local ingredients. They are better for the natural world.
Difficult words: deforestation (when people cut down many trees), barley (a grain to make food, beer, and alcohol), legume (peas, beans and similar seeds).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
