Bulletproof rooms in US schools – level 1
13-04-2023 07:00
In the United States, there are many mass shootings. This year, there are already more mass shootings than days. They happen in schools, too.
It is necessary to protect children and teachers. But lawmakers work slowly. A security company in Alabama creates a safe room. This room stops bullets. People can put it up quickly in the corner of a classroom. One room costs over 50,000 dollars. Children and teachers can go inside if there is a shooter in a school.
Kevin Thomas designs the room. He says that it is important to stop mass shootings rather than protect people when it happens.
Difficult words: mass shooting (an incident when a person kills more people with a gun at one time), protect (to keep safe), lawmaker (a person who makes rules of a country).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What solutions do you think should be implemented to stop mass shootings in the United States?
