The dark web is a part of the internet. Many people don’t know about it. It is not like the regular websites which we visit every day.

The dark web is a place where things people buy and sell things secretly. To go on the dark web, you need special software called Tor. This software helps keep your identity private. Some bad things happen on the dark web. People sell drugs and hacking tools there. They also sell personal information like email addresses and passwords. If you get strange emails or messages, someone probably sells your email address.

The scariest thing about the dark web is that some people use it for child sex abuse. This is very bad, and the police are working hard to stop it. They arrest hundreds of people last year.

Difficult words: secretly (when you do something and nobody knows about it), identity (who someone is), sex abuse (to make someone have sex but he or she does not want to).
