China is having economic problems. The United States and some other countries think that this will make the West stronger than China.

Officials from Washington, Rome, Tokyo, and other places talk to reporters. But they do not want to give their names. They say that the main story about how money moves around the world is changing very fast.

Before, it seems like China will become the world’s top economic power and that the United States will not be strong anymore. But now things are not so sure. In Washington and other places, people are thinking about how to deal with China. Maybe, the country will not get weaker yet, but it will probably not get stronger either.

Difficult words: economic (related to money and business), power (a strong and important country), deal (to solve a situation or problem).
