India’s vintage cars competition – level 2
11-03-2024 15:00
Indian people love vintage cars and they celebrated this love at the Oberoi Concours d’Elegance. People could see pre-war European classics and iconic American Cadillacs.
Car owners competed at the luxurious Oberoi Hotel, which showed India’s big role in the vintage car market. In the 1930s, Rolls-Royce sold a quarter of its production in India.
Godam Singa is a big businessman and he owns many vintage cars. His collection includes unusual models like the Bentley 4 and Phantom 3. At the event, people could also see Indian classics, such as the iconic Maruti 800.
Difficult words: vintage (very old and of high quality), classic (a work of art or an object that people recognize and they know how good or important it is), collection (a group of things or people).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What are some examples of vintage cars that were displayed at the Oberoi Concours d’Elegance and who is one notable car collector that attended the event?
