21-05-2024 15:00
Italy has many old people. One in four people are over 65 years old.
Emma Maria Mazzenga is 90 years old. She is the fastest runner in her age group. She is born on August 1, 1933. She runs 200 meters in 51.47 seconds. It is a new world record. She has five world records and many European and Italian records. Mazzenga is happy and surprised about her new record. She often has no other runners in her age group. She tries to get good times.
Mazzenga starts running again at 53 years old. Running makes her happy. She meets many people. She will run in the Italian championships in June. She hopes to go to the world championships in Sweden next year. But she jokes about not making many plans.
Difficult words: record (the best result), surprised (when you cannot believe something), joke (to say funny things).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What is the age of Emma Maria Mazzenga and how many world records does she hold?
