Lebanon walkie-talkie explosions – level 1

23-09-2024 15:00

In Lebanon, many people get hurt. Three people die. Walkie-talkies explode in their hands or pockets. The explosions are in the south and east of the country. This happens one day after pagers explode in Lebanon, too. Some people think that Israel does this. But Israel does not say anything. Hezbollah uses these devices to talk to their fighters. Now, they have a problem. Some experts say that Israel does it quickly. They think that people will know about their plan soon.

Many people are upset because normal people are hurt. Hezbollah will probably answer back. But they will not start a big war.

Difficult words: explode (to blow up and break with a loud noise), pager (a small device for sending messages), device (a small thing which we use for a specific purpose).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What is the speculated reason for the explosions of walkie-talkies and pagers in Lebanon, and who are suspected to be behind these incidents?
