Isak Andic, who started the Mango fashion company, died at age 71 in a mountain accident. He was hiking with his family near Barcelona when he fell from a cliff over 100 meters high.

Andic was born in Istanbul and moved to Catalonia in the 1960s. He founded Mango in 1984 and became very successful, with a net worth of 4.5 billion dollars. Mango made 3.1 billion euros in 2023 and sells its products in over 120 countries. Andic was a competitor to Amancio Ortega, who owns Inditex. His death is a big loss for the fashion industry.

Mango’s CEO, Toni Ruiz, said the company will work hard to keep Andic’s dreams alive.
