A man saves a child – level 2

28-04-2026 07:00

Robert Butler, a worker in Arizona, saved a small child from a very dangerous situation.

The child ran away from a parent and moved toward a busy road with many cars. Another worker saw the child first, but he couldn’t reach the toddler because of a gate.

Butler was in his truck nearby, and he saw the danger. He stopped his truck and ran very fast to catch the child. He picked up the toddler just before the child reached the traffic. A video shows that cars were driving very fast on the road at that moment. The parent arrived quickly and took the child back.

Butler felt very emotional because he has a small son too. He says that children move very fast and parents must be careful. He also says that drivers need to watch the road all the time. This story is a great example of helping other people in the community.

Difficult words: toddler (a child between the ages of 1 and 3), emotional (when you have or show very strong feelings), community (the people who live in the same area).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What prevented the other worker from reaching the toddler before Butler arrived?
