Vitamin patches – level 3

26-05-2026 07:00

The dietary supplement market is a 60 billion dollar industry, and a new trend is just coming: wearable vitamin patches.

The brand Barriére is leading this movement and expects to double its revenue to 10 million dollars in 2026. This growth is driven by a massive deal to sell their products in 1,700 Walmart stores and the launch of the world’s first patch for lactose intolerance. The company targets younger consumers through social media and offers a stylish alternative to swallowing pills. The patches work transdermally – skin heat activates the ingredients so they enter the bloodstream directly.

However, health experts point out that there is no clinical evidence for vitamin patches compared to traditional oral supplements. Because the US government classifies supplements as food rather than drugs, companies are not legally required to make large medical trials. To build consumer trust, Barriére manufactures its products in regulated facilities in the UK and uses independent third-party labs for voluntary safety testing.

Difficult words: revenue (the total amount of money that a company receives from selling its goods), lactose intolerance (a condition where a person cannot digest milk products properly and gets stomach pain), clinical (relating to the medical testing and treatment of real patients).

What two developments have driven Barriére’s expected revenue growth to $10 million by 2026?
