Five tips to learn a language faster – level 3

05-06-2026 15:00

Learning a new language can be difficult, especially if you only remember funny, random textbook phrases. To help you improve, there are five effective hacks.

First, skip complicated grammar rules at the beginning and learn the 50 most common phrases. Make them personal; focus on words you will actually use in daily life. Second, listen to the language as much as possible through YouTube, radio, or audiobooks, preferably just above your current level. This tunes your ear and helps with pattern recognition. Third, practice talking to yourself, your pets, or plants to get comfortable. Fourth, relax on the sofa and watch TV shows, movies, or children’s programs, and follow social media accounts in your target language to learn real expressions. Fifth, practice with an AI chatbot; it is like a 24/7 tutor that provides a safe space to make mistakes without embarrassment.

Remember that language is social, and real conversations with humans are the most important part of becoming fluent.

Difficult words: hack (a clever tip, trick, or efficient way to do something more easily), pattern recognition (the ability of the brain to see a design or a regular arrangement of words and sounds that repeat), embarrassment (feeling ashamed, shy, or uncomfortable because of a mistake or a silly situation).

You can watch the video news lower on this page.

Which of the five hacks — learning the 50 most common phrases, listening just above your level, practicing by talking to yourself (or to pets or plants), relaxing and watching TV shows/movies/children’s programs while following target-language social media, or practicing with an AI chatbot — will you try first to improve your language skills?
