Man Gets a New Face – Level 3
10-06-2015 07:00
Rebecca Aversano lost her 21-year-old brother Josh in a car accident in 2012. His family decided to donate his face to a man named Richard Norris. Richard was left severely deformed by a gun accident and lived for years as a recluse. But the surgery was a success.
“On 60 minutes…”
“Do you mind if I touch it?”
“No, not at all.”
And this is the incredible moment Rebecca met Richard for the first time.
“Feeling her brother’s face…”
“This is the face that I grew up with.”
“…on another man.”
Their story is featured on an upcoming edition of “60 Minutes” in Australia.
“Do you mind if I touch it?”
“No, not at all.”
“For the first time…”
“Wow.”
“Seeing, touching, feeling her brother’s face…”
“This is the face that I grew up with.”
“…on another man.”
Difficult words: leave deformed (when the shape of your body is extremely changed and not natural), recluse (someone who stays at home all of the time), upcoming edition (a story that is soon to come out).
