News about the Colorado shooting – level 2
18-09-2015 15:00
In Colorado, USA, people were watching a midnight premiere of Batman in July 2012 in a cinema. James Holmes killed 12 of the people and injured 70 in this cinema.
James Holmes had three guns, and he was dressed in body armour. More than three years after the attack, the court sentenced Holmes to life in prison without parole.
New photos emerged. They show the cinema right after the shooting.
Difficult words: body armour (padding you wear to protect your body), sentence (to give a criminal a punishment), parole (to let somebody leave prison early if he or she behaves well), emerge (to become public).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
