Queen Elizabeth visits Malta – level 2

Queen Elizabeth II visited Malta. She met with the Maltese president and planted a tree in the president’s official residence.

She was also there to open a Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Justin Trudeau is Canada’s new Prime Minister. In his speech, he said that he is the 12th Prime Minister of Canada under Elizabeth’s reign.

Queen Elizabeth thanked him for making her feel so old. Everybody laughed.

Difficult words: residence (the home), the Commonwealth (an organization of about 50 countries which were once part of the British Empire), reign (the period when somebody is king or queen).
