A German village makes its own electricity – level 1
08-06-2026 07:00
Electricity is very expensive in Europe today. But in a small village in Germany, the price is very low. This village is called Feldheim, and only 130 people live there.
They do not buy electricity from big companies. They make their own energy from wind, sun, and plants. They have big wind machines and a large solar park with solar panels. They also use waste from local farms to make gas and heat. These machines make a lot of energy. It is more than the village needs, so they sell the extra energy to other places.
At first, big power companies do not want to help them, so the village builds its own power lines. Now, the people are happy and safe because their energy comes straight from their own fields and is very cheap.
Difficult words: solar (from the sun), waste (things which we do not want to use anymore and throw them away), extra (more than you need).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What sources of energy do the people of Feldheim use to make their own electricity?
