Boys are unhappy at school – level 1

Many boys are having a hard time in school. They often get lower grades than girls. They leave school earlier than girls.
Schools ask students to sit still for a long time. Many boys have a lot of energy. It is very difficult for them to sit all day. When they move too much, they sometimes get into trouble. This makes them feel like they are not good at school. So they do not try hard. This is a big problem because school helps people stay healthy and find good jobs.
Parents are worried that their sons will feel sad. They do not have many dreams. Boys need more time to move and run around. Sitting all day is not good for children. If we help boys do better, it will be better for everyone.
Difficult words: grade (a number or letter which shows how good a student’s work is), get into trouble (when you do something wrong and have problems later), healthy (strong, not sick).
