Strait of Hormuz opens for ships – level 1
23-04-2026 07:00
For two months, there is a war between Iran and the USA. Because of the war, ships can not move on the sea. This is bad. Ships carry oil to the whole world.
Now, there is a ceasefire. This means that the fighting stops for a short time. On Friday, the first cruise ship sails safely through the water. Many other ships are now leaving the ports. Everyone is happy to see the ships moving again.
The ceasefire will last until April 22, and maybe longer. It is good news for the world.
Difficult words: cruise ship (a large ship which takes people on holiday), sail (to travel across water in a ship), port (a city where ships stop).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Until what date will the ceasefire last?
