Vietnam’s Ha Giang Loop – level 2
15-04-2026 07:00
The Ha Giang Loop is a very popular 350km road trip through the mountains of Vietnam. Thousands of tourists visit every year to see the amazing views.
A young British woman recently died after falling from a motorbike, which made people think about the risks. The roads are narrow, steep, and full of traffic like big trucks. Many tourists ride with local drivers called easy riders, but some choose to drive themselves without much experience. Another problem is alcohol; some tours encourage partying with local wine, which can make driving dangerous the next day.
If you want to visit this place, you should find a good company with safe helmets. It is also very important to check if your insurance covers motorbike accidents.
Difficult words: steep (a hill or road that goes up or down very quickly), encourage (to talk to someone in a way which makes them want to do something), insurance (something you pay for so that if you have an accident or get sick, a company pays for the costs).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What precautions should tourists take to reduce the risks associated with riding a motorbike on the Ha Giang Loop?
