London Bridge Attack – level 1

In England, there is another terrorist attack. This one happens in London. A van hits people on London Bridge. Then it drives towards a market. The terrorists leave the van. They start stabbing people.
The police come. They shoot the two men. Seven people die. More people are injured.
Theresa May, Britain’s Prime Minister, talks about the attack. She says that enough is enough. On Sunday morning, police arrest 12 people.
On Monday, people come together. They pay their respects to the victims. London’s mayor Sadiq Khan talks. He says that London’s love is stronger than the terrorists’ hate.
Difficult words: van (a big car), stab (attack with a knife), pay respect (show respect, show that you are sad and sorry), victim (somebody who is killed or injured in an attack).
