On Wednesday, technology company Meta let people briefly see its first physical store.

The store will open on May 9, and it will sell Meta’s virtual reality headset. It will also share information on the Metaverse, which has virtual reality spaces for people to visit.

The store is in California, USA, at Meta’s virtual reality department. It makes and sells its devices such as the headset, video chat devices, and smart glasses. The store will also sell items online.

Meta’s CEO said he thinks that the Metaverse will be the next big technology platform, and the company spent a lot of money on it. He also said it may take a 10 years for it to be popular.

Difficult words: brief (a short time), headset (an electronic device that you wear on your head), platform (a technology system where you play games, work, or learn).
