An attack on Argentinian vice-president – level 1
07-09-2022 15:00
Christina Fernández de Kircher is the vice-president of Argentina. Last week, many people greet her in front of her house in Buenos Aires. She speaks to them. She is smiling at them.
Suddenly, a man points a gun at Fernández de Kircher. He wants to shoot. Luckily, the gun doesn’t work properly. Nothing happens to the vice-president. Officials later say that five bullets are in the gun.
The Argentinian president speaks on TV. He says that the attack is very serious. He calls the next day a national holiday. Thousands of people meet in the center of Buenos Aires. They show support to the vice-president.
Difficult words: vice-president (a person who works as a president when the president cannot work), bullet (a small metal object which is inside a gun), support (to help someone be strong).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
