Putin and nuclear weapons – level 1

On Wednesday, Russian president Vladimir Putin speaks on TV. He says that he will mobilize more soldiers for the war. New men must become soldiers. They will fight against Ukraine.
Putin also speaks about the West. He says that they send weapons to Ukraine. These weapons help Ukraine fight in Crimea and other parts of Russia. They shoot at the Zaporizhzia nuclear power plant. They can start a nuclear emergency.
Putin says that leaders of NATO countries want to use nuclear weapons against Russia. Russia has nuclear weapons, too. Some weapons are more modern than the West’s weapons.
Difficult words: the West (the UK, US, many European countries, and other countries that believe like they do), mobilize (to prepare soldiers to fight), nuclear power plant (an electricity factory; it breaks very small things called atoms).
