2022 space exploration – level 2
02-01-2023 07:00
Many important events in space exploration happened in 2022.
NASA successfully launched its uncrewed Artemis 1 mission; it was the return to moon missions and the start of missions to Mars. NASA’s spacecraft also successfully hit an asteroid and changed its trajectory in the world’s first defense system of our planet.
For the second time in history, scientists took a picture of a black hole. They captured Sagittarius A, the black hole in the center of our galaxy. Amazing photos came from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope which cost 9 billion dollars.
Lastly, China built its first space station, and the first three astronauts arrived there in November.
Difficult words: uncrewed (not carrying any people), trajectory (the path which a flying or moving object follows), capture (to take a picture or video of something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
