Guns become steel – level 2

During operations against criminals, authorities in Colombia seized more than 29,000 guns. Now, they are turning these guns into steel.
Among the guns were riffles, machine guns, and rocket launchers. Criminals used them to kill people in the streets of Colombia. Workers are melting these guns to make steel. They will use the metal to build houses for people with low income.
One Colombian soldier said that things which once hurt people would now help people.
Difficult words: seize (to take something and keep it), rocket launcher (a tube which fires a rocket), income (money which a person gets for work).
