Someone hurts ex-police officer Derek Chauvin in prison in Arizona.

Chauvin does something bad to George Floyd. He puts his knee on Floyd’s neck for nine minutes. George Floyd dies. Chauvin goes to prison for 21 and 22 and a half years. The incident starts big protests in the world. People protest against police brutality and racism. This happens in 2020.

Now, someone attacks Chauvin with a knife. Workers in the prison quickly help him. They take him to a hospital. They save his life.

Difficult words: brutality (when someone does very bad things to others), racism (when someone does not like people of different skin color).
