Kamala Harris starts her campaign – level 2
26-07-2024 07:00
US Vice President Kamala Harris started her campaign to replace Joe Biden in November’s election. Biden stopped his campaign only a few days ago. Harris had her first rally in Wisconsin, a state which is important for both Democrats and Republicans. Many people came to see her, and she talked about supporting democracy. Harris visited Wisconsin five times this year, and Biden talked about Wisconsin in his speech too. Last week, many Republicans were at their National Convention there. Since Biden supported Harris, she has raised 100 million dollars. The campaign is moving fast. Harris’s supporters want to end the war in Gaza. This election is not only about Trump. It is about what people believe in.
Difficult words: replace (to take the place of someone or something else), rally (a political meeting), support (to help).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
