A yacht sinks – level 2
23-08-2024 07:00
Rescuers found two bodies in a sunken yacht near Sicily, Italy.
The boat is 50 meters underwater, and divers have trouble getting inside because of floating objects. They are also using remote-controlled robots to help. The yacht sank on Monday, and six people are still missing, including British businessman Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah. The captain of the yacht, who survived, is in the hospital.
Authorities still don’t know why the accident happened, but they believe a water spout could be the reason. The search continues, but it is difficult.
Difficult words: remote-controlled (a device or machine which you control from a distance), water spout (rotating water), search (looking for something or someone).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
