Good news – level 1
25-10-2024 15:00
This week’s news brings some good stories.
China builds a very big wind turbine. It can make cleaner energy. Another story is about a teenager named Heman Bekele. He invents a soap. This soap can help people who may get skin cancer. The soap stays on the skin after you wash it. It will help in countries where medicine is expensive. Denmark has a new rule. Farmers must pay for the methane from their animals. This gas can hurt the environment. Some students also make a new device. This device can find fires when they are small. The last story is from a city in the Netherlands. They stop all ads about fossil fuels.
Difficult words: invent (to make something new), cancer (a disease when a part of your body starts to grow without control), methane (a gas with no smell or color).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What is the purpose of the soap invented by teenager Heman Bekele, and how could it be beneficial in countries where medicine is expensive?
