Vendée Globe – level 1

On Sunday, 40 sailors start the tenth Vendée Globe. It is a solo race around the world.
Many fans come to say goodbye to them in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France. French sailor Jérémie Beyou may win. He comes in third place in 2016. Beyou and his team pack a lot for the trip, over 100 kilograms of food and tools to last 80 days.
His boat is new and fast. It should handle the rough ocean. Beyou knows that going fast can break the boat. He must be careful. If he wants to win, he needs to finish in under 74 days. It is the record time.
