06-12-2024 15:00
The Sydney Opera House is 51 years old and very famous. It has many shows every year. Millions of people visit it every year.
The building uses technology to save energy and keep visitors comfortable. Over 1,400 sensors check air and temperature often. Seawater from the harbor cools the building. It saves a lot of electricity.
The Opera House is very green. It has many awards for using less energy and water. Its old design helps too. Workers take care of it and keep it safe for the future. The goal is to make the Opera House better for the planet by 2030.
Difficult words: comfortable (feeling good), sensor (a tool which checks the temperature, pressure, or other things), award (a prize).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What methods does the Sydney Opera House use to save energy and contribute to a greener planet?
