There are more wars than you know – level 2
27-04-2026 15:00
Many wars happen in the world today, but we only see a few on TV. Some wars are invisible because they are very far away. If the news doesn’t talk about a war, the world doesn’t try to stop it.
This is a big problem for people in places like Africa. They suffer while the rest of the world watches other stories. News editors often choose stories that they think people want to see. They believe that people only care about things that are close to their own lives. Also, many people stop watching the news because it makes them feel sad. Because of this, there are wars people don’t know about. We need to find a way to make people care about everyone. One way to help is to listen to local reporters. These people live in the country and know the truth. They can tell stories about real people and not just give numbers. When we see that people in wars are like us, we want to help them more. We must remember that every life is important and every war needs our attention.
Difficult words: invisible (something you cannot see), suffer (to feel pain or sadness), editor (the person who decides what will be in the news).
How can listening to local reporters help us care more about people in wars that receive little news coverage?
