2020 Olympic Mascots – level 3

The official blue and pink mascots of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games made their debut in Tokyo.

The blue one is called Miraitowa (meaning future and eternity) and the pink Paralympics mascot Someity was inspired by a variety of cherry blossom. Organisers said that the two futuristic characters combine tradition and innovation.

The organising committee president said that 5 million children helped to pick the designs as well as the names, so in a way, the Olympics belong to everyone.
