A man dies on a plane – level 1
24-05-2024 07:00
A plane is flying from London to Singapore. There are problems. The plane flies through strong turbulence. The Boeing 777 hits an air pocket, an area where the air moves differently.
Thirty people are hurt, seven very badly. One man dies. He probably gets a heart attack. He is 73 years old. He is British. Andrew Davies is one of the passengers. He says that the plane moves a lot. Things are flying around. Andrew fastens his seatbelt. Not all people have enough time to do it. The plane must land in Bangkok. Emergency workers are ready at the airport.
Such strong turbulence does not happen often. But it can happen.
Difficult words: turbulence (when air moves a lot), heart attack (when your heart stops), passenger (a person who travels by plane, bus, and so on).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What was the cause of injuries to thirty people on the flight from London to Singapore?
