Japan’s Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, had a very exciting day when she met her favorite rock band, Deep Purple.

She told the musicians that she started listening to their music when she was a young girl in school. Takaichi is not just a fan; she is also a drummer! She once played in a band which performed Deep Purple’s songs. During the meeting, she gave the band’s drummer a pair of Japanese drumsticks and told him that he was her god.

Deep Purple is in Japan for a new tour. They are very famous for the album Made in Japan, which they recorded many years ago. Even though the Prime Minister has a very difficult job with many problems to solve, this meeting made her very happy.

Difficult words: exciting (something what makes you feel very happy, interested, or full of energy), drumsticks (the two thin wooden sticks a drummer uses to hit the drums), record (to store sound or pictures so that people can hear or see them later).
