Animals in tourism – level 2
10-10-2014 07:00
Animal attractions are a part of many holidays. People like to ride on elephants or take pictures with tigers.
However, tourists are largely unaware of what goes on behind the scenes. People often mistreat the animals. People take them from their mothers and keep them in isolation, so they are often lonely.
A new global campaign talks about these problems and wants to help the animals.
Difficult words: unaware (when you don’t know about something), mistreat (to take bad care of somebody or something), isolation (alone).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
