Baby pygmy hippo – level 1
25-11-2015 15:00
In England, a pygmy hippo is born. It is three weeks old. It is doing very well.
It does not have a name. We do not know if it is a boy or a girl. People think that it is a boy, but we must wait.
The hippo’s mother is a very good mum. She looks after the baby. She is very protective of it. Nobody can come close to the little hippo.
In the wild, there are only 3,000 to 4,000 pygmy hippos.
Difficult words: look after (help), protective (she protects the baby very much), in the wild (not in a zoo; in the nature).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
