Basquiat and Banksy – level 2
22-09-2017 07:00
An exhibition of works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, who was an American street artist, opened in London on Wednesday 20th. Before the opening, two new murals by Banksy appeared near the arts centre.
One is an image of Basquiat who police stopped and are searching him. An art critic explained that Banksy is saying that it is still difficult to be a black person on the streets. The second mural is a picture of a Ferris wheel, which has crowns for cars.
Difficult words: mural (a painting on a wall), search (look for something on you that might be a problem), Ferris wheel (a very big wheel where people can go and enjoy the ride).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
